AMD’s Decline is an Opportunity

AMD has pulled back this week despite modest gains made by tech stocks. This is a great opportunity to load up on AMD if you are still sitting on the sidelines. I am buying Jan 07 35 calls to add to my already overweight AMD position.

I am getting creamed on AMD. Can’t help but feel that the shrinking margins stuff is overblown in the face of larger market share. Still sitting on my calls.

    yea. dont feel bad,
i got sucked into Portal Player
last year a couple of times.
    i thought that Portal was
a “100% pure play” on Ipod
while Apple was just 1/2 Ipods. And see…..
Apple goes from $35 to $90
    and Portal… well….
    ego had
to play on premise of PE
    only 12-15x…. but
    stoxx spirit knew
    better………………..
    P.S. after Portal Players
    first fall in
    October, the insiders,
including President Gary Johnson painted the tape with
    false insider buy activity.
    dirty!

    try not to do options.
    options suck.

i dont like the idea of
    leaps because greed stacks
    on top of ego chatter-static.
    you have to
    be 1,000% sure what your
    buying and thats ususally
    not humanly possible.
so you have to wait or goal for
    something a little more
    special. seeing your
    “instructions” to buy AMD
    which turned out to be
    “destructions”, i will post
    a bailout. If Lifecell
    would fall $3-$4 to say
    $28-$30, and the 12 month
calls with a $30 strike can
    be had for $2-3-ish,
    then with heaven’s goal
    vastly exceeding $40,
    you have a bailout.
but if you didnt learn from
    the innocent mistake,
    you will blow
    your bailout and repeat
    the AMD again. dont.

    after Acellualr Matrix
    fell $2.00- $2.40
    from the am 31.98
    window dressing crazies,
    i checked out the calls
    strikes
    $30 for your crash course
    bailout. so far the
    $30 strikes from Sept-Dec
    are sky high $3-$5.
    but dont despare.
    just hang tough. lets hope
    for faulty downgrade or
misleading newsflow knock down somemore, or a few days cool off
    to $29.01
    or even $28.01, if so
you may be able to snag some
calls for a buck or two and
keep rolling them over for 12 months at $30 strike, during
    supersized advance. iam rooting
    for your bailout. but always
    keep greed in check.

maybe Lifcell will run to far,
due to the short term rally,
    say to $34.00-ish,
    you short it for
a small- rapid $2-$5 tip over,
use the proceeds at then tipped
    over lower levels to initiate
    the $30 strike calls. then
    stay away from unfriendly
    options.

    Bad News.
    on Friday 7/7
    Lifecell plunged $4
    to lower $28s, but
    the near by Sept 30’s
    calls retained rich premiums
    rather then a deep discount
to $1.00 as i had hoped for
    you. apparently the options
    pit remained bullish despite
the steep fall. for the moment there is no bailout,
but there is always next week!
maybe ISRG will fall on its
ass to $110-$105 for long entry point if dip buers arent
    too alert.

    BAIL IS SET AT $1.15

    Lifecell has dipped $7
    to the $26-ish, probably
    a good price point if
    the story hasnt materially
    changed.

    The august $30 calls
    are $1.15 and the
    september $30 calls
    are $1.55. if there
    is a steady uptrend
    they will be rolloverable
    for the next 12 months.
    both these options
    will catch potential
    from 7/27/2006
    rich sequentials earnings
    report.
