NetLogic Finds a Logical Partner
NetLogic (NETL) and AMD are planning to announce a strategic partnership on Monday, to address the problem of network security. The first move by the partners is to roll out a reference design board, the NLS1000HDK. NetLogic will market the kit to makers of network and other communications gear. It aims to help these companies design electronics inside their products that use the NETL7 and AMD Opteron chip.
NetLogic already counts nearly all the big gear makers among its customers, including Cisco, Juniper and Foundry. For AMD, the pact is a way to possibly gain a bigger foothold against Intel. Both AMD and NETL have been on a tear lately, and while AMD is well below iits 52-week high, NETL is very close to an all time high. I like NETL at a pull back to $40.
